Coach's Bio

Roger Wilson is a former professional rugby union player with over 350 professional games throughout his 15-year career.

Having played for Ulster, the Northampton Saints, and Ireland, he was called to represent both the prestigious Barbarian and World XV teams in 2014, before retiring from professional sports in 2017 as Ulster’s player with the highest number of appearances ever. Aside from sports, Roger has traveled to more than 30 countries around the world and holds a BSc and a Masters. Along with his wife and two young children, he now resides in Dallas, Texas, where he runs his business – Tackle Smart Sports.

Roger Wilson is a former rugby player from Ireland who had a successful career in both national and international competitions. He began his career with Ulster and won the Player of the Season award in 2002 and 2008. He later played for the Northampton Saints, where he helped them win several competitions. In 2012, he returned to Ulster and retired in 2017 as the player with the highest number of appearances ever.

Aside from rugby, Wilson obtained a BSc Degree in 2008 and a first-class Master’s in Performance Science in 2018 while balancing work, coaching, and family life. He is also an IRFU Level 3 Certified Coach and became the full head coach of the Instonians Rugby Football Club in 2017. Furthermore, he co-founded Edge Rugby Management, a boutique rugby agency that serves clients’ needs, including contract negotiation, commercial endorsements, mentoring, and off-field player development.

Despite retiring from rugby, Wilson remains active in the sports world, working with coaches and athletes. He has traveled to over 30 countries with his family and moved to Texas with his wife and two children in 2018.
